Big news! Miss Beek's box set of 45 episodes of The Muppets arrived today. First thing tonight we sat down and watched the Steve Martin, Gilda Radner and Elton John episodes. She sent me home with a couple of disks. We're going to have a tube built between our places so that we never, ever have to leave the house again. Pigs in Space! Fozzie! Bennie and the Jets with Animal on drums!
I'm exhausted, but between this and the MLB playoffs, who needs outside contact? 2003-09-10 - 3:28 p.m.
Knitting update: here's how my secret project - which is now going to be for Christmas - currently looks.
And a closeup of where the four corners meet:
The pattern is the Mitered Squares Felted Bag over at Knitabit. Im using Noros Kureyon, color 51. Look at the colors! All that from one skein! I have four squares out of the fourteen done. But it goes pretty quickly. And I think the receiver will love it come December.
Mimi Smartypants has news. Wow, Mimi. You go!
I on the other hand am feeling sort of blech and blah, probably because after falling asleep at 1:00 a.m., I was rudely awakened at 3:30. By my cat. With her butt in my face. Now I've had a lot of pets; I've never once lived without animals of some kind. So I've seen a lot of doggie and kitty bum. But three-freaking-thirty in the morning is too early for kitty arse. I love you, Katze. Now get off me!
One of the more entertaining parts of not getting enough sleep is that instead of burning out at work about 4:00 p.m. every day, I lose all steam about 2:30 p.m. (Note post time above, ahem.) After 2:30 I mostly wander from task to task, trying not to screw anything up too badly. Right now I should be doing six separate tasks, but instead I'm fascinated by the rapidly deteriorating carbonation in my diet Pepsi. In the spirit of the age-old question, "how many licks does it take to get the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?", I present my question: "How many sips does it take before the diet Pepsi carbonation has gone out of my diet Pepsi can?" Not nearly as interesting, I'll grant you, and without the cutesy early 80s owl advertisement, but still. The best I can do at this energy level.
Because I am so freaking tired and because my friends make me laaafff, I present the best from today's email.
