Reason #127 that I'm a geek: getting a new ergo keyboard that clicks the exact right way makes me happier than I've been all day.
Hold back the sex machine.
Oh, and before I forget, everybody go visit Helen, who is having one of the worst days ever. Show the love! 2003-11-04 - 1:46 p.m.
Halloween, in a word, bit. There was the strangest vibe at the party. Every time I ducked around a corner, it seemed more likely that a group of dumbfucks would be snorting coke* and bellying up to a Lou Reed altar. It was a group of people trying far too hard. I did take some slamming pictures with a disposable camera, planning to scan 'em in for you...
And then we left the party, desperate to get home before any more life was sucked out of us...and I left the stupid razzafrackin' thing there. Called the next day: no dice. Somebody lifted a $6 disposable. Can you believe my camera karma? Anyway, Momma Guerin took some shots, so I have a call in to her. For now, just believe me that we looked good. Far better than the stupid party deserved.
*No thank you. Never done it, never wanted to. 2003-11-04 - 1:14 p.m.
The Manos del Uruguay kufi is complete! Mmm, warm head tonight walking to the car. Warm head on the bike this weekend. Thanks for the pattern, D. On to the scarf... 2003-11-04 - 11:25 a.m.
Daddy met me for dinner last night at our favorite Chinese place. After we were done chowing down (hot and sour soup, bok choi with black mushrooms in oyster sauce), we chatted for a while, then split up so he could beat the weather on his way home. As we walked outside, a homeless man asked us for cash or leftovers. I started to hand him the bag, then saw Daddy's glower out of my eye corner. Stopped, said goodnight to the parental figure, and waited for him to drive out of the parking lot and around the corner.
Then I went looking for the homeless guy. He was young, mid-twenties, with a green jacket and a backpack. I walked a couple of blocks. No dice. Got into the car and drove up and down Broadway, annoying other drivers in the process, searching for this guy. Finally, half an hour later, I gave up and went home.
I'm heating leftover soup right now for lunch, and crap, do I feel guilty. Stupid me let parental pressure get in the way. Grr. 2003-11-04 - 11:14 a.m.
Linky goodness:
I want my Mummy. Or maybe the Monkey-mermaid. Monkmaid? Mermonk? Merkey?
If, like me, you need cheering up today, check out Word Chowder. Heh.
