Since things are so shitty, I'm taking a break to look at pretty things from Ikki. The company's run by friends of a friend, and they do beautiful handmade bags like these:

At least if I carried one of these, I could beat myself over the head with it during times like these.

Aargh. Is the day over yet?

There's a quick knitting project in process; can't tell you about it because it's a surprise, but for the first time I'm working with Noro's Kureyon. Nice to have a 100% wool yarn that doesn't make my hands itch. Kureyon is self-striping, though with much longer bands of color than usual, and the stripes are very cool in the chosen mitered pattern. This project will also be felted. Pix when it's been gifted, probably next Monday.

I originally posted a diatribe here about Paul Hill, but it's been deleted. A blog like this is simply not the appropriate place. Suffice it to say that the man makes me sick to my stomach.

For a complete change of pace: what would we do without craigslist? Laughing is required when you read this. The Michael Jackson comment is my fave.

You know how there's that old saying that it doesn't rain, it pours? Well lately every time I get under an awning and out of the wet, the damned thing collapses. And today one of my shelters banged me straight on the forehead.

Someone I trusted at work has blindsided me. This is some serious shit; it could affect my career for a long time. I've got 24 hours to craft a careful response - which will, of course, accomplish nothing. She admits she's screwed up but refuses to fix it. What fucking ever.

Did I bitchslap the sultan's wife in a former life or what? What the hell else is going to go wrong?
