2003-08-05

2003-08-05 - 3:38 p.m.

I already rambled a bit earlier today.

Button, button, who's got the button? Exclusive Buttons in El Cerrito, that's who. On Saturday a few of the something like four million they carry came home with me. Here are some pics. (There are also some here that I purchased on my last trip but hadn't posted.) First up: abalone. These were just too pretty to miss. I figure they'll end up as purse closures.

And some bakelite beauties. Don't these just reek of a wool coat from 1957?

I've tried to keep colors as true as possible, but this big bakelite and the elephants (for Isaballa's Christmas present, yay!) are a little off. But aren't the oliphunts sweet? And check out the bumblebees!

There are six of these loverlies in sterling silver; they're meant for a knitted Daddy gift - even though I haven't found the pattern yet. Horse, meet the cart you'll be pulling. Eventually.

These are for Mom's Christmas jacket from Monkeysuits. They were made in 1920s Germany. The picture does not even come close.

And these are for Puppy Love. Earthy and okay for little fingers and sooo perfect.

These crystals have a specific purpose too; they're going to close the back of the White Lies lingerie pattern Nicole when she's finished (probably in three years, but whatever). I finally saw this pattern in person at Lambtown, and had to have it. It's feminine and sexy and the knit shaping is just right. Besides, it has some very sweet associations por moi. ;-)

Two last pics for today, and then I'll release everybody who's in dialup hell. This is Amber.

Amber rocks. Amber sleeps a lot. She helped me sit Siana on Sunday. I love Amber. And no, she has nothing to do with the rest of this entry, except that I think she's gorgeous too.
