Just back from Identity and a visit to Fry's (more on which later). The movie's good, not great, but is interesting enough to keep watching. You can't say too much without giving away the plot (of course), but suffice to say that it's pretty easy to guess what's going on. I did love the cast. Well done. But it wasn't nearly scary enough. in heavy rotation Madonna, "American Life". Soon I'll forgive myself for this. Wonder Boys soundtrack: Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Buffalo Springfield Ben Folds, "Live" Fry's is always the most bewildering experience. I don't care much for warehouse stores, since they're so confusing and badly lit. I'm looking at new laptops, since it's become clear that some of my personal projects need to come home. My Presario is at Daddy's; he loves it, so I might as well add to the mountain of debt and buy something new. The big question is whether or not to get a Mac. Most of the software I prefer (Pagemaker, Photoshop) for design work and fun stuff runs more cleanly on a Mac. But my acual work-work is all Access/Filemaker, which are both a pain on Macs. Plus there's the question of software. And not having $3K to solve this little problem. Fry's was funny in another way. They asked me _six_ times if I needed help within ten minutes. All guys, of course - how many women work at Fry's who aren't cashiers? J didn't get asked once in the half hour we were there. Nice.
