Pearl gourami, here you are. Mine is freakishly shy, as I mentioned. Not quite sure why. I've had plenty of other gouramis, and while they're shy, they don't hide from all humans the way this one does. I have two blueberry gouramis in a larger tank in the living room, and they've gotten over the shyness completely. They come to your fingers now for food - especially if you're feeding tubifex worms. I never thought I'd be this person, obsessed with fish and always thinking about another tank. But one day J brought home a betta in a vase. Horrified, I tried to give the betta a better home. Well, it died, of course. I then managed to kill two more bettas within a few weeks. Then I started reading...and as with many things, the research sucked me in. It's a hugely detailed hobby that involves much planning--a perfect obsession for me. Fish are gorgeous, they're calming, they're relatively easy to care for, and they don't need to be walked. I'm careful to buy fish that are tank raised whenever possible, and I only buy coral from sustainable sources.
