2003-07-13

2003-07-13 - 2:59 p.m.

Whew, I am wiped out. Beek, Cec and I spent about four hours riding through town today. We did the farmer's market, had lunch, went through the Broadway Cemetary - in short, had a damned good ride. My back is very sore. Clearly this is going to require much stretching to keep everthing in working order, but that's ok. It's worth it to be able to get out and move around again.

I lost a long post to fatigue and stupidity last night about 2:00 a.m. In the long run that's probably better; some things are better left unsaid. But it was a good reminder that I need to start my posts someplace other than the html editor. My typing style and this laptop just do not get along that well - I tend to rest my wrists on the panel, and end up losing entire pages of text. Extremely annoying.

. I'm headed into the shower, then will spend the hot part of the day working on the Cleo halter (link at left) before heading out to the Obon Festival at one of the local Buddhist churches. Mmm, somen noodles.

Last thing - it's flor de calabaza time, folks! I picked up 24 squash blossoms for $3 today at the farmer's market. Can you say quesadillas? 'Cause with some queso fresco and fresh corn tortillas, there's gonna be one hell of a feast. Just remove the flower's inner workings and any remaining leaves, rinse and dry, then layer into the tortilla with good cheese. Corn tortillas only, please. Now that is good eating.
