2003-05-14

2003-05-14 - 11:58 a.m.

Free time is bad. Having a credit card and an ultra-swift web connection is worse.

I just ordered yarn (from Elann) for my next three big projects. What's that, I should wait until I've at least finished swatching for the tank? Yep, good advice. Useless, but good.

I plan to make three pieces from the Monkeysuits book I mentioned earlier. Sorry there aren't closeups. My plan is this: Puppy Love for Baby Guerin, Yellow Jacket for Isabella (go to the next Amazon page) and Prematurely Gray for Mom (sizing on that pattern goes from 6-9 months to a woman's L - wow). All the yarn's on its way - now we'll just see how much progress I make.

Added 4:22 p.m.: So I swatched at lunch successfully. The 8s will work, but there's no way I'll make it through the project on bamboo. Much as I hate metal, I'm off to buy a long set of 'em after work. Damn. Stupid things will probably never get used again.

My day's also gotten weirder: a distinctly married co-worker made a pass at me in the elevator. At least my superfemale powers of driving away men still work: I laughed at him and he got off the elevator. Dumbass. THEN my back started to itch. Holy crap. I thought the stinging was bad. Both of my scars, down the spine and on my hip, are so itchy that I'm rubbing against the wall. Best of all, to scratch the hip scar, I have to slide my hand down just a little...at work. Maybe this is why Jerky thought he'd be successful?
