Whoolie did a great job. She was so nervous about hosting the shower - we're such an atypical shower bunch - but it was a huge success.
The most fun part was covering Momma Guerin with henna. She decided a while back to do this, so that the love and prayers we bear for her and the child would be with her (hopefully) until the baby's born. I'm not sure the henna will last that long, but it's a beautiful concept.
Sister starts the job. Momma's big on spirals, since they're a part of matriarchal art. Yep. Note that we've been careful to cover her up - Momma does not wear panties. We've all seen it before, though. She's not shy.
Isn't it gorgeous? Take a look at the butterfly at right. Sister did that.
And a closeup of the butterly. Momma ended up with a peace sign, a smiley face, "JOY", and an Eye of Horus. Very cool.
Sadly my camera died at the very end. I'm still on the same batteries from London. But more to come, including updates on the kufi.
