Finally, a picture or two from March's London trip with Mom. To be honest, I didn't take many pictures until the day we went out to Kew Gardens. It was a tough trip in many ways: the war started while we were there, protestors were everywhere (much may they be praised), and Mom and I don't know each other that well these days. But somehow a few hours out at Kew settled me down. It's not hard to figure out why, looking at these.
I suppose the shot of the man and his kids needs a bit of explanation. Mom and I were having coffee; I was watching this man with his daughter and little boy (who is hidden). The third child came up and started playing with the man's children. Eventually, the man lifted all three children up in succession and gave them 'helicopter rides', spinning them around until he was dizzy. The kids were so entirely relaxed, so happy. And the man was so clearly in love with his kids just then, right at that moment.
That few minutes takes up a large space in my memory. I felt as though I were watching joy.
